Parent & Toddler Club
Parent and toddlers tennis is an exciting new initiative set up by Kirsteen Miller and Rhona Ross on Monday mornings at 10am to encourage participation in sport locally. This is aimed at preschool children of any age from when they can walk and is based on Judy Murray's book set4sport. This teaches children core skills to play sport in later life through games and activities involving ABC -agility, balance and coordination.
The session is semi-structured for approx 30-40 minutes with a warm up, then the children rotate to various skill/ activity stations, finishing with a game. There is also a free play area if your child just wants to run!! Juice and biscuit follows!
An adult should accompany the child, help them with various skills when required and join in with activities. However, especially for the older children, if you feel your child is able to do an activity themselves or in pairs with another child then please feel free to take a step back and watch!
Please come dressed for the weather as we will be outdoors whenever possible. However, when the weather is bad the group will be split into 2 sessions (10am and 10.45am) and we will have activities in the clubhouse.
If your child would like to attend regularly we encourage them to join as a member which will cover the sessions. There will also be a collection each month for juice and biscuits. Tea and coffee is also available for adults.
If you would like further information please contact Kirsteen Miller on 07714979890.
